I would like to find out the list of vendors who can wire up LAN for a house for internet and possibly music and/or video. Can anyone assist please? Thank you.

hi, i just had a word with the IT expert in my office and he said you should plan for a wireless system in your house instead of a wired system. He said the new wi-fi systems can handle up to 4K video.

Dear Sir, thank you. Sounds like good news. No need to wire up the house.

Get the latest wi-fi router with the 802.11ac specs.
The theoretical max speed of 802.11ac is eight 160MHz 256-QAM channels, each of which are capable of 866.7Mbps, for a total of 6,933Mbps, or just shy of 7Gbps. That’s a transfer rate of 900 megabytes per second — more than you can squeeze down a SATA 3 link. In the real world, thanks to channel contention, you probably won’t get more than two or three 160MHz channels, so the max speed comes down to somewhere between 1.7Gbps and 2.5Gbps. Compare this with 802.11n’s max theoretical speed, which is 600Mbps.
There are a few models available in the market, but they are expensive – about RM1k plus. As is usual in electronics, you just have to wait for more manufacturers to churn out the 802.11ac wi-fi routers and the prices will drop.

Wow. Thank you.I do see many AC routers but you are right in that it is still much above RM1k.
