This Panasonic TH-98LQ70 is a nice grand 4K TV which usually retails for RM$179,000. KLIAVS 2016 offer is RM$135,000, for me that’s still more than RM$1,000, per diagonal inch square! Nice picture quality though

Our resident high end contributor, Mr TE Tan was very much smitten by this Orpheus Absolute series music server & integrated amp, powering the pair of Franco Serblin Ktema speakers. Or maybe he is just attracted to this very innocent looking babe?
However, I must admit that not only the SYT was looking great, this Orpheus Absolute pair of electronics boxes caught my imagination more so!
The only pair of Klipsch Heresy 70th Anniversary was especially brought in for the KLIAVS 2016. It was immediately snapped up by an avid collector by the second day of the show!

Dream Audio’s main feature was a HT system, powered by Sony VPL-VW320ES UHD 4K projector with a 16:9 Dark Star screen. A Denon Blu-ray player & AVR took care of source & Dolby Atmos processor duty with ATI power amps were used to power Adam GTC series speakers matched with a pair of JL Audio Fathom F113 subs in 7.2.4 Dobly Atmos set up. The surround sound quality was stupendous to say the least. Got my vote for Best of AV Experience!
The hardware in Dream Audio’s sucessful HT demo!
Adam GTC series speakers with Magnat Dolby Atmos speakers on top
Living Audio is back again this year with XTZ Dolby Atmos surround speaker system. I felt the sub woofer on the left was set too loud till it covered, and overlap the mid range of the main speakers. At certain scenes in the 13 Hours demo, some LFE effects overloaded the room and became boomy. Nevertheless, one panel judge still voted it for the Best Surround Sound category!
And not to mention a 60 inch TV just ain’t gonna cut it for such a big sounding system!
Audio Art had striped down Magnat amps for us DIY-ers freak to look and drool at
This Magnat integrated amp is a hybrid tube/transistor design come with built in DAC!
My wish came through finally when the Heco Direkt speakers were on demo, with Loite CD player and Magnat tube amp. However the sound did not win me over, but there were others in the judging panel that voted it for Best Sound of Show too!
