Ruark’s R410 music system from its new 100 Series was launched at M Resort & Hotel in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Doing the honours were Global Sales & Marketing Director of Ruark Richard McKinney and CEO OF VSTECS Soong Jan Hsung.
Richard explained that the only way to improve on its previous range was to go hi-res and the R410 supports PCM music files up to 24 bit 192 kHz (using Burr Brown DAC chips) and major streaming services like Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Apple AirPlay 2 and Chromecast.
It has broadcast support for DAB, DAB+, FM and internet radio. As for connectivity, it supports aptX Bluetooth, HDMI with eARC and TOSLINK (up to 24/192 kHz).
Other than featuring the tweeters from the Ruark MR1 speakers, the R410 is a new design which took three years to develop.
As expected, the Ruark R410 is part music player and part interior decor item. In terms of design it is modern even though it has an excellent real wood veneer and will surely enhance the beauty of your living room. In terms of sound, it has a nice mid, clear highs and a surprisingly rich and full bass given the small size of the enclosure.
It is priced at RM8,899 and is available for purchase in the 4th quarter of this year.
Also spotted at the launch was the RS1 subwoofer for the MR1 speakers.

The RS1 subwoofer features a 170mm treated fibre long-throw woofer and a 170mm passive radiator. It is driven by a 100-watt Class D amplifier and features soft-clipping with adjustable crossover from 50Hz to 180Hz.
It is priced at RM2,199 and will be available in December.
