At the recent Northern International AV Show Penang, a pair of speakers from Lithuania called Silent Pound Challenger 2 impressed quite a number of audiophiles with its clarity and powerful bass which filled the large entrance area of the Amari SPICE hotel with rich sound.
Audiophiles in the Klang Valley now have the chance to hear the speakers which are on demo at Audio Alchemy, Ground Floor, Block C, Lacosta Condo, Sunway South Quay, Bandar Sunway. The speakers were sent there to enable more audiophiles to hear sound from speakers of a radical new design.
The speakers are unusual as the bass drivers are on an open baffle while the mid drivers have their back waves channeled to the front via perforations on the baffle in phase with the front waves. The tweeter is horn-loaded with a wide dispersion wave guide.
In the demo system, the source is a Lumin streamer, Gustard DAC, Mark Levinson preamp and Odyssey Khartago stereo power amp. The speakers are priced at 28,000 euros.
