Michael Børresen shares his knowledge with Singaporean audiophiles

Founder of Audio Group Denmark Michael Børresen took much time to answer lots of technical questions from Singaporean audiophiles including — surprisingly — many young ones at the listening session organised by his distributor, Audio Maestro, at Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre yesterday.

They asked him about the golden ratio, toeing in and the right way to place speakers in a room. He was also asked about how to deal with the problem of RFI pollution, especially in an urbanised place like Singapore.

The questions were asked after demo sessions using a system comprising his flagship speakers Børresen M3 speakers, Aavik SD-880 streamer DAC, I-880 Class A integrated amplifier and Ansuz Gold Signature cables and power switch. Three well-attended demo sessions were held.

His flagship speakers are interesting as they feature Tesla coils wound around the positive and negative wires inside the speaker before and after the crossover. The Tesla coils are powered by a 15 volt DC current from the D-TC Power Box and if the Ansuz Gold Signature speaker cables are used, a third cable is included for the power supply. However, the speakers will still work if the Tesla coils are not powered.

The second system on demo comprised the Borresen C3 speakers, Aavik U-588 Unity Integrated Amplifier and Ansuz D3 series of power switch, power distributor and cables. The third system was more affordable and comprised the Axxess L3 speaker, Axxess Forte 1 Streamer Integrated Amp and Axxess cables and accessories.
