The Kronos Perpetual turntable, which was launched at the Munich High End earlier this year, has reached Malaysia.
Today, owner of Kronos Louis Desjardins was at YL Audio’s demo room in Bandar Kinrara, Puchong, Selangor to launch it in Malaysia. After that he held two demo sessions at 11am and 3pm attended by a group of vinyl fans.
Included in the demo system were the Kronos Discovery dual mono phono preamp and two matching power supplies.
Louis said the Kronos Perpetual turntable has reached about the same level of performance as the Discovery turntable, but at lower cost (around US$70,000).
The speed stability, and wow and flutter figures can match the Technics SP-10 direct-drive turntable while vibrations have been reduced even further.
During the demo session, it was easily discernible that the noise floor was very low and the turntable picked up no surface noise except for some clicks and pops from static electricity.
Soundstage was large and imaging was pinpoint stable. The turntable system sounds good, but it costs quite a large sum of money.
