AV Intelligence opened its showroom at B-3-18, 10 Boulevard, Jalan Cempaka, Kampung Sungei Kayu Ara, Petaling Jaya, yesterday.
A steady stream of audiophiles turned up and were treated to music, movies and refreshments. The CEO of AV Intelligence Pte Ltd Andy Kennard flew in from Singapore for the opening.
Andy said he was in Singapore working for Microsoft when he decided to turn his hobby into a business and opened AV Intelligence on Joo Chiat Road in Singapore focusing on hi-fi, AV and home automation solutions.
Then he decided to venture into the Malaysian market where “things are more laid-back, there’s more soul and the vibes are cool”.
Taking centrestage in the showroom are the Silent Pound Challenger 2 speakers from Lithuania which made their debut in Malaysia at the Northern International AV Show in Penang earlier this year. These speakers are driven by a stack of Moon by Sim Audio components.
The AV Intelligence showroom has three demo rooms. The main one is in the front featuring the Silent Pound speakers. The one in the centre of the showroom features a TV with a long speaker that looks like a soundbar but is actually a centre plus left and right speakers in one housing from KRIX.
At the back is the AV demo room featuring a large KRIX horn speaker with huge bass unit.
There is one more room right at the rear which is the company’s ‘man cave’ where there is a pool table and fridge filled with drinks. In that room are pro speakers from Funktion-One which are meant for pubs and clubs, and a mixing console for deejays.
