
Yamaha Home Audio has decided to exit the Malaysian market. It sent out a letter notifying all its dealers about its decision to leave the Malaysian market and two dealers have confirmed receiving the letter two days ago.
In the letter dated Jan 7, 2025 signed by Managing Director of Yamaha Music (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd Jin Katagiri, it was stated:
After much thoughtful deliberation, Yamaha Music Malaysia has decided to take a new strategic direction, which will include phasing out Yamaha Home Audio products from the market. This decision reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring that we focus on areas where we can provide the most significant value and innovation for our partners and customers.
“We understand that change can bring about questions, and we want to assure you of our steadfast support during this transition. Yamaha Music Malaysia remains dedicated to maintaining the trusted relationships we have built with you and ensuring a seamless experience for you and your customers.

Rest assured that all warranty commitments for Yamaha Home Audio products will continue to be honoured subject to our current policy. There is no indication as to whether Yamaha will stop making home audio as the letter states that it is only leaving the Malaysian market.
