Stars Picker has become a distributor for Fosi Audio and it held a Fosi listening session yesterday. Another session will be held today from 11 am.
They have set up a system comprising a FiiO S15 streamer/DAC, the Fosi ZA3 integrated amp and a pair of DALI Rubikore 2 standmount speakers.
The difference between the Fosi ZA3 and the V3 is that the ZA3 has balanced inputs and it can be converted into a mono amp.
I was at the showroom yesterday and after spending some time comparing the RCA vs XLR inputs, I can conclude that the balanced inputs sounded better with a larger soundstage and improved dynamics and better clarity. However, with the RCA inputs, the vocals sounded a bit more forward while the singer was placed a bit further back when the balanced mode was used.
Fosi, which has been getting good reviews all over, has redefined affordability. The ZA3 can be purchased at below RM700.
